Lanoraie, Québec – November 16, 2018 – Vignoble CARONE Wines (“CARONE”), premium estate winery located in the Lanaudière region of Québec, announced today that it welcomes the announcement made today by the ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), André Lamontagne, in recognizing the indication géographique protégée (IGP) vin du Québec. Additionally, CARONE announced that this past summer it underwent the mandatory requirements to have its 2018 vintage IGP Vin du Québec-ready.

“We always try to stay at the forefront of the Quebec wine industry’s evolution and this August we were pleased to fulfill the vineyard requirements of the IGP vin du Québec,” said Anthony Carone, owner and winemaker, Vignoble CARONE Wines. “Although our wines have always been made from 100% Quebec grape, and in recent years exclusively from our estate, we look forward to working with this appellation system since it will be run by the Government of Québec,” added Mr. Carone.

With decades of grape growing experience, owner Anthony Carone stated that he looks forward to the new appellation defining unique viticultural areas, like Lanaudière. He testified to the nuances of his terroir: “The southern region of Lanaudière is made for viticulture. Sub-regions like the Grande Côte, where our vineyard is located in Lanoraie, benefits from sandy loam soils and a moderate temperature created by the expanse of the St. Lawrence River.”

Bordering on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, the Lanaudière region has, for some years, been the cradle of viticulture for a new generation of visionary winemakers who are convinced of the potential of their terroir in the cultivation of vinifera and certain hybrids grapes adapted to the northern climate. Lanaudiére winemakers promote quality through a careful selection of the best parcels of the region required to unveil the elegancy of their wines.

Vignoble CARONE Wines | CARONE is a premium estate winery located along the St. Lawrence River in the Lanaudière valley, Québec’s fastest developing wine growing region. CARONE currently offers its wines under six brands – APEX, ITALUS, VENICE, DOUBLE BARREL, BIN 33 and VERITÀ – and the company expects to expand on its wine offerings. CARONE wines are sought out worldwide by consumers who appreciate the company’s relentless devotion to perfection, outside the bottle thinking, and commitment to quality.
