CARONE; Quebec’s Hidden Gem
GP TRAVELER MAGAZINE, June 2016, pages 36-39
“Like the children of many Italian immigrants, I grew up making wine at home,” says Anthony Carone. “From 1999 to 2005 our family focused
on the vineyard – testing new grape varieties and working at maximizing the results from European varieties.” Today, CARONE vineyard is fully planted with many European vines like Italy’s Nebbiolo and Sangiovese and, Anthony’s personal favourite, Pinot Noir.
One the wine side, CARONE offers the largest listing of Quebec-made red wines at the SAQ – Quebec’s liquor commission. The brand has also been
making a splash outside of Canada.
