by CARONE, April 25, 2019

Lanoraie, Québec – April 25, 2019 – Vignoble CARONE Wines (“CARONE”), premium estate winery located in the Lanaudière region of Québec, today provided an update about its ownership of the IGP Vin du Québec trademark.

Sarah Hoodspith-Carone, Director of Vignoble CARONE Wines stated: “It is with a collaborative spirit we have voluntarily abandoned our registration of the trademark, a word mark, “IGP Vin du Québec” through the Canadian Intellectual Property Office on April 24, 2019. ”
She continued: “In learning that the term IGP, as it relates to wine, is a protected term belonging to the European Union and supported by the Institut national de l’origine et de la qualité (INAO) and International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) we did not want to infringe on their protected mark.”

Vignoble CARONE Wines | CARONE is a premium estate winery located along the St. Lawrence River in the Lanaudière valley, Québec’s fastest developing wine growing region.
